Police Review investigates taser death
Officials say a man who died after being stunned with a Taser gun by Chicago police had been released from prison days earlier.
The man was identified Sunday as 39-year-old Homer Taylor.
A pair of Chicago police patrolmen used the stun gun on Taylor who allegedly fled before thrashing a sharp-edge object at the officers. Taylor later died.
Records show Taylor was released from prison on October 10th. Chicago police say the confrontation was on the city's West Side.
Police say the suspect was acting erratically and drinking from an open bottle. A Cook County Medical Examiner's autopsy Sunday did not find a cause of death for Taylor, but further studies are planned.
The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating the incident.
