Ravinia patron charged after fight injures one
A disagreement over seating led to a fight Saturday at the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park.
Anthony Delgado, 40, of the 7400 block of North Oriole Avenue in Chicago, was charged with misdemeanor battery, Highland Park police Sgt. Steve Mueller said. Delgado is accused of hitting a 49-year-old Arlington Heights man in the face.
Mueller said one of the groups apparently "infringed" on the other group's space in the lawn section of the park.
"It's quite unusual that this kind of event happens during an event at Ravinia," said Mueller. "The patrons that come there are there to have a relaxed, friendly good time. In this situation, I believe they were just too close to each other."
The incident happened at 7:45 p.m. Donna Summer was the performer that night.
Delgado was released on a personal recognizance bond and is due to appear in court at 8:45 a.m. Sept. 18 in Waukegan.
