Firemen battle blaze on Chicago River

Firefighters and barge workers battled a stubborn fire on the Chicago River this morning.

The fire was burning next to the State Street Bridge near the Loop.

A pylon near the bridge house apparently caught fire. It's unclear exactly what may have started this fire.

Before firefighters arrived, contractors working on the River Walk were working to put out the fire.
