Morton Grove woman convicted in triple fatal freed

A suburban Chicago woman sentenced to eight years in prison for causing a high-speed crash that killed three men during a failed suicide attempt is out of jail.

Twenty-five-year-old Jeanette Sliwinski of Morton Grove was released from Lincoln Correctional Center in central Illinois on Thursday -- less than a year after she was convicted of reckless homicide.

Sliwinski was found guilty but mentally ill in the deaths of three musicians after she rammed her car into their vehicle at a Skokie intersection in July 2005. She said she was trying to commit suicide when she crashed.

Prison officials reduced her sentence, and she got credit for two years of time served before her conviction. Officials say her parole will likely last one year.
