Judge tosses lawsuit targeting shooting range
St. Clair County's efforts to shut down a shooting range it argues is too close to Scott Air Force Base have taken another hit.
A judge in Belleville has dismissed a lawsuit that targeted the Caseyville Rifle and Pistol Club in Mascoutah.
The county now has two weeks to appeal.
County officials insist the open-air gun range's location may endanger planes landing at Scott. The gun club denies that claim.
The gun club's president says he hopes the county takes Associate Judge Andrew Gleeson's ruling as a sign and gives up.
There's no word yet on what the county plans.
