Benjamin Franklin exhibit opens in Niles
A traveling exhibit on Benjamin Franklin has arrived in Illinois.
It's called "Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World" and details the life of the American founding father, statesman, philosopher and inventor.
The exhibit opened Sunday at the Niles Public Library District.
It includes several photo-panels detailing Franklin's young life, years as a printer. Details about his political career, like contributions to the Declaration of Independence are also included.
The exhibit is organized by the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary, which helped promote celebrations of Franklin's 300th birthday in 2006.
Officials with the exhibit say Franklin's story still remains current and his interests remain relevant.
The exhibit runs until early December.
