Tired of deceptions and the lies

Concerning the outrageous statements in letters by so many Democrats, I don't know where to start, so I'll dive right in.

Clearly Obama is highly unqualified and inexperienced to be president. He seems to be quite intelligent, and he speaks well. But he's also slick, packaged aloof, and condescending. And listening to him, you would think he's running against George W. Bush, whom he loves to demonize (he and global warming seem to have caused all of our ills). His populist proposals won't work, and he keeps changing positions on everything from foreign policy to raising taxes.

Recently someone wrote and praised Obama for his judgment in choosing Biden as his running mate. This is the same Joe Biden who plagiarized his way through law school and a previous presidential campaign, who has made serious foreign policy blunders in his senate tenure, and who continually puts his foot in his mouth. He even admitted that Obama probably should have chosen Hillary as his veep.

Some writers have been whining about Republicans running a nasty campaign. The truth is that over the past few decades, Democrats have honed nastiness to a fine edge. Their favorite tactic is character assassination. Remember Bork, Thomas, Flowers, Lewinsky, Tripp, Starr, Ashcroft and, lately, Palin? Without conscience, they distort and lie and defame.

Let's not forget the mainstream media, complicit in all of this. Why don't we hear anything about Obama's tight relationship with Ayers, Johnson and Raines - his advisers, or his campaign contributions from Rezko, Fannie Mae, etc. Just 12 years ago, at the Democratic convention, the big crusade was against smoking. Hmm, Obama smokes, so why no mention of that now. Or how about the issue of military service? George W. Bush was questioned about his National Guard service, but at least he served. When did Obama enlist?

Sorry for the rant, but this has been building up. I know many sincere liberals who I consider friends, and I agree with them on several points. I wish we could have civil discourse. I'm so tired of the distortion and lies. Aren't you?
