Urban League gala Oct. 25
Quad County Urban League will host its annual Equality Gala at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Drury Lane, 100 Drury Lane in Chicago. The annual gala is the principal fundraising event with all proceeds benefiting its programs and services. Throughout the years, the event has raised millions of dollars for the thousands of constituents the Urban League serves. Each year since its inception, the gala has grown, attracting more and more individuals and corporations who embrace the mission of the Urban League.
This year's fundraiser features Grammy award winners Boyz II Men and comedian Ron Baker. The event is sponsored by UPS, Hollywood Casino, BP America, A.J. Wright, Comcast and the Chicago Tribune. Support has also been received from area community and civic organizations. Tickets for the event are $200 for the dinner, concert and after-party; or $75 for the concert and after-party only. The Quad County Urban League in Aurora is a nonprofit community-based organization which supports academic achievement, job placement and training, equal access to employment, housing and cultural enrichment for low-income, displaced citizens.
