An open forum for Waukegan

I'd like to thank the volunteers at Task force On Waukegan Neighborhoods (T.O.W.N.) for the Internet forum they have provided for free use by the public. For 6 plus years, the forum has been an excellent source for breaking news and a vehicle to shed light on and counter a less than open City of Waukegan government that would range from bumbling buffoonery to Soviet style repression and disinformation.

The existence of this forum has, without a doubt, led to a more informed and enlightened citizenry. What a positive and patriotic contribution! Thomas Jefferson would have approved.

I understand this forum has ceased to exist. This is saddening. But there is a bright side to this sad news - that being the birth of a new Internet forum for the city of Waukegan. Yes, a generous Waukegan citizen has voluntarily started a new forum to take up where the old forum left off. Waukegan Talk can be found at www.wauktalk.com.

So please visit this open public forum where, unlike Waukegan city council meetings, you won't get arrested for exercising your First Amendment rights.
