Midwest Museum of Natural History

The Safari Sprouts program at the Midwest Museum of Natural History will beginning again Jan. 7.

This weekly program, for children, age 3 to 6, is designed to create an awareness and appreciation for the natural world through activities, play, songs, stories, crafts and the use of museum exhibits.

Each class will be centered on an "animal of the week" theme where children will learn about a specific animal and "safari" through the museum in search of it.

Safari Sprouts will be offered every Monday, except holidays, from 10 to 11 a.m. and is a drop-in program. No registration is necessary.

The cost is $2 per child and is free for accompanying adults and toddler siblings. This special program is not included in museum membership.

Safari Sprouts is funded by a grant from the DeKalb County Community Foundation.

The Midwest Museum of Natural History, 425 W. State St. in downtown Sycamore, is open 7 days a week. For information call (815) 895-9777 or visit www.mmnh.org.
