Obama looks other way on corruption

I'm afraid that Barack Obama is too tied in with big labor unions to suit my taste. These are the guys who ruined a number of industries including the automobile, steel, K-12 education and all levels of government with unrealistic pay and pension demands. Think about it. Your property taxes are rising and will continue to rise, despite the fact your home is worth less, because of soaring pension costs. Mayor Daley leased Midway Airport, and much of the lease fee profits will go to pay for city pensions, brought about by payrolls bloated with friends and relatives of those in power. And did you ever ask yourself why the Japanese car makers avoid big union states, yet produce the highest quality automobiles?

Unions at one point in time served a very useful purpose, but those days are passed. We're rapidly becoming a society where people with 401(k)s, IRAs and the like get to fund their own retirement AND the retirement of everyone else. Since pensions are disappearing in the private sector, shouldn't this also be the case in these other situations?

Obama also concerns me because when I look at the state of Illinois, unquestionably the most corrupt in the union with Democrats controlling every office, do we need this to spread to the federal level? Since he and Dick Durbin look the other way as corruption proliferates, do you think he'll change as President? I don't.
