Oktoberfest time in Carpentersville

The Carpentersville Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5915 will host an Oktoberfest dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18. at the post home, 301 Lake Marian Road in Carpentersville.

In addition to celebrating Oktoberfest it is also Sweetest Day, so bring your sweetie. This event is open to the public and the price for dinner is $10 per person, half price for children between 5 and 12 years of age, and under 5 is free. The menu will include brats, ham, scalloped potatoes, red cabbage, home-made applesauce and dessert.

Come for an evening of fun and fellowship. Karaoke will follow the dinner and there will be plenty of German music.

The Ladies Auxiliary is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to serving veterans and the community.
