Tri City health fair Oct. 18
On Saturday, Oct. 18, the Tri-City Health Partnership will join with The Salvation Army and Delnor Community Hospital to host the annual Tri City Health Fair, which offers attendees a variety of free services and screenings provided by 21 local agencies. The fair will be held at the Salvation Army, 1710 S. Seventh Ave. in St. Charles
"The fair is important; because for those without health insurance, or with limited financial resources, it may be the one time a year that many local residents have the opportunity to access an array of health-care services in one place at no cost," says Shannon Watson, executive director of Tri City Health Partnership.
The fair will offer screenings for high blood pressure, depression, colorectal cancer, human immunodeficiency virus and osteoporosis. Flu and pneumonia vaccinations will also be available. The fair will also provide extensive health information on everything from addiction and aging, to cancer prevention, hospice, and local medical clinic services.
Those participating in the health fair to provide these services, include: American Cancer Society; Aunt Martha's Health Clinics; Backworks Physical Therapy; Circle of Wise Women; Community Crisis Center; Crisis Pregnancy Center; Delnor Hospital; Elderday Center; Fox Valley Hospice; Greater Elgin Family Care Center; Harmony Chiropractic; Kane County Health Department; Open Door Clinic; Provena Pine View Care Center; Renz Center; Salvation Army Health Programs; Senior Services Organization; Tri-City Family Services; Tri-City Health Partnership Free Clinic; Two Women for Women; and VNA of Fox Valley.
