Outdoors TV host Tony Dean dies
Many of you have seen his television program. Unfortunately, segments to be seen in the future will be reruns of the Tony Dean show.
Dean, a 67-year-old broadcaster and columnist, died Sunday from complications following surgery to remove his appendix.
Tony Dean Outdoors had been on television since 1985.
Fishing report
It sounds like a broken record, but the fall bite on local and regional lakes and rivers is red hot.
Fox Chain: Guide Darrell Bake (847-337-5559) has had tremendous success with big walleyes this week. He reported catches ranging from 23-26 inches. His boat also nailed a 42-inch pike on the north end of the Chain as well. The crappie bite is excellent, too.
Fox River: A few walleyes have been showing up again just below the McHenry Dam.
Lake Michigan: A few coho and kings have been reported from the Waukegan area. Lake trout seem to be more readily available. Perch very slow.
Deep Lake: There's good crappie and bluegill action along the west shoreline.
