Five men arrested in rape of teen in Elk Grove

Five suspects have been arrested and charged with the rape of a 17-year-old girl over the weekend in Elk Grove Village, police said Monday.

Police said Edgar Barboza, 19, of Carpentersville; Edgar Loeza, 19, of Mount Prospect; Jose J. Loeza, 21, of Mount Prospect; Uriel Sanchez, 19, of Mount Prospect; and Ruben Sanchez, 17, of Mount Prospect were arrested and charged with one count each of criminal sexual assault.

The girl, who was an acquaintance of the five suspects, met them at Motel 6, 1601 Oakton St. in Elk Grove Village, said Elk Grove Village Officer Michael Gaspari.

Police said they received a call shortly after midnight Sunday from the female saying that she had been raped in the hotel.

The woman was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village for treatment. She has since been released, police said.
