Workshops

Family event

Chicago Botanic Garden

• The Midwest Daffodil Society Bulb Sale is from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, as is the Wisconsin-Illinois Lily Society Lily Bulb Sale.

• The Midwest Fruit Explorers Show and Sale with tastings and information on growing fruit is from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19.

• The Model Railroad Garden hosts a "Trains, Tricks & Treats" Halloween Party to close the railroad garden season from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25 and 26. Tickets are $5; $3 for children younger than 12.

Morton Arboretum

• The Fall Color Festival runs through Sunday, Oct. 26. Activities include a session on "gourd works" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19.

• The Fox Valley African Violet Society Show is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26.
