Va. judge orders no bond for white supremacist
ROANOKE, Va. _ A Virginia judge has ordered a white supremacist held without bond as he awaits trial in Chicago for allegedly threatening a federal juror.
Magistrate Judge Michael Urbanski said in court Wednesday night that William A. White's online postings -- including discussions of plots to murder 15 to 20 people -- compelled him to keep the activist behind bars.
White is a commander in the American National Socialist Workers Party. He faces charges stemming from the 2004 trial of Matthew Hale, who was convicted of soliciting the murder of a federal judge.
White has said he posted information about a juror online, but says he made no threats. He says his online postings were sensational exaggerations.
It isn't immediately clear when White will be in Chicago to face charges.
