15-year-old charged in teen's shooting
A 15-year-old Chicago boy has been charged as an adult in the death of an eighth-grader who was shot as he bought snacks inside a South Side convenience store.
Police say the 15-year-old was charged Sunday with one count of first-degree murder in the Oct. 1 shooting of 13-year-old Sameere Conn.
The suspect's name has not been released. He is due to appear in Bond Court this week.
Friends and family say Conn had stopped at the convenience store after playing football and was shot in the torso by a gunman who fired through a front glass window.
A 27-year-old man was also wounded in the shooting.
