'Scream' bandits rob Libertyville Starbucks

Libertyville police are looking for three men who robbed a Starbucks Coffee House while wearing masks from the horror movie "Scream".

Det. Don Smith said the suspects entered the store at 159 E. Petersen Road about 10 p.m. Sunday, displayed a handgun and secured the two store employees with handcuffs and duct tape.

After moving the employees into the backroom, the masked bandits took money from the registers and fled the store on foot. No estimate on the amount of money taken was available.

After struggling for some time, the employees freed themselves and contacted police, Smith said.

He said no one was harmed in the robbery.

"This is the first robbery I've heard of that fits this description," he said. "Unfortunately, due to the masks, we have no descriptions of them."
