Chicago high school teacher accused of abusing 15-year-old

CHICAGO (AP) - A Chicago high school teacher accused of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 15-year-old boy he met on the Internet is being held in lieu of $750,000 bond.

Prosecutors say Lincoln Park High School teacher Benjamin Zollo contacted boy online and he responded. After they exchanged messages for a month, the boy went to Zollo's home, where they had sex. They eventually met every two weeks, before the teen spent the night with the 32-year-old Zollo on New Year's Eve.

Prosecutors said the boy's parents were upset he was gone all night and had called police. When his father confronted him, the boy admitted where he had been.

Zollo was arrested Wednesday at the high school. The district says he has been suspended "pending further review."

Zollo's attorney didn't comment on the charges.
