Scouting the Fire: This is mostly about gaining momentum for the playoffs for the Fire (12-9-7, 43 points), with some emphasis on winning second place in the Eastern Conference from wounded New England.
Scouting Toronto FC: This game means more to Toronto (8-12-8, 32 points) than it does to the Fire. Toronto needs a win to keep its slim playoff hopes alive. For now, Toronto is last in the East. This will be forward Chad Barrett's first game against his old team since going to Toronto in the Brian McBride deal.
Next: New York Red Bulls at Toyota Park, 8 p.m. Thursday.
