Neighbor sports

Girls basketball tryouts: 10-11:30 a.m. for fifth grade, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for sixth grade, 1-2:30 p.m. for seventh grade, 2:30-4 p.m. for eighth grade, Saturday, Oct. 4, Fremont Middle School, 28855 N. Fremont Center Road, Mundelein. Girls living in District 120 who plan on attending Mundelein High School are invited to tryout for the Mundelein Girls Feeder Basketball Teams. There is no charge to tryout

Skatefest: Registration at 11:30 a.m., competition at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5., Antioch Skate Park, on Williams Street behind the Antioch Public Library, 757 N. Main St., Antioch. Open to any residents, beginner, intermediate and expert levels will be judged. Helmets required. A $10 registration fee is required. Proceeds will be donated to charity.
