Elgin trailer broken into

Police continue to search for the person or people responsible for breaking into a utility trailer Saturday morning and stealing nearly $3,000 in gas, and assorted tools and equipment.

The incident occurred at 9:36 a.m. on the 700 block of Bluff City Boulevard, reports said.

Someone pried open the trailer's handle to gain access to the vehicle and take the following items: a gas edger worth $700, a chain saw worth $509, tools worth $500, a leaf blower worth $350, a gas mower, stick trimmer and hedge trimmer worth $300 each, and a five-gallon can of gas, worth $40, reports said.
