Herald shows bias in Iraq war coverage

As I read today's paper, (Sept. 7) "Our View" entitled "The Politics of Blaming the Media," I thought it was very refreshing when the Republican party leaders at the Republican National Convention, mentioned the liberal bias of the news media.

While reading this, I was amused by your statement that this is not true. The news media is very transparent in their liberal bias. You seem to be assuming that your readership are not too observant in what is going on with the media today.

Your paper, the Herald, is a good example. It is not just what you say, it is what you do not say and your priorities in where to place an article. An example is news about the war in Iraq. If there is something negative to report on the war, it will most often appear on the top of the second page. If, on the other hand it is something positive, it will appear in a small article around Page 8. Believe me, this does not go unnoticed.
