Man charged in pregnant sister-in-law's death

BLOOMINGTON _ A central Illinois man has been charged with raping and beating to death his pregnant sister-in-law while his wife and three kids slept in the room.

Twenty-one-year-old Jason Marksteiner was charged in McLean County Circuit Court with three counts of murder and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault in the death of 19-year-old Jodi N. McGrew.

Police say they found McGrew in an upstairs bedroom at Marksteiner's parents' home in Leroy Tuesday morning. Leroy is about 15 miles east of Bloomington.

McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling said Wednesday that McGrew died of blunt-force trauma and strangulation.

Marksteiner's wife told police she heard nothing.
