Man in ski mask robs Lake Zurich bank
Lake Zurich police and the Federal Bureau of Investigations are searching for a masked gunman who robbed a Lake Zurich bank late Wednesday morning.
The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money before police arrived at Midwest Bank, 585 Ela Road, at roughly 11:30 a.m.
Officers searched the area but didn't find the suspect. Police also questioned people at several area businesses, but wouldn't confirm if they turned up any leads.
"It's currently under investigation," Lake Zurich police Cmdr. Kevin Finlon said.
Bank employees reported the man entered the building wearing a black ski mask, blue jeans, a dark jacket and a green baseball-type hat. He pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the teller, Finlon said.
The suspect was roughly 5 foot 8 inches tall with a medium build, police said.
