South Barrington Parks to host playground build
The South Barrington Park District will conduct a community Playground Build from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 and Saturday, Sept. 13 at its new community park, 8 Bridges Drive, South Barrington. Volunteers are invited to help build the new playground and to become a part of South Barrington history.
Construction will be supervised by Team REIL, manufacturers representative for Miracle Playground Equipment, and park district staff. Volunteers are needed in in the following categories: skilled labor with professional construction skills; skilled labor with basic carpentry skills; general labor for lifting and holding; and hospitality. Shifts are scheduled from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.; 1-5 p.m.; and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. All volunteers who donate at least one four-hour shift will receive a community build T-shirt.

Sponsors are also needed to help underwrite this event. The Community Enhancement Foundation of South Barrington will be sponsoring the event T-shirts. Companies and individuals who would like to

The playground is part of a 22 acre park being developed by the South Barrington Park District in the Woods of South Barrington subdivision on land donated by Toll Brothers to the park district. In addition to the playground, park amenities will include two baseball fields, turf soccer fields >built through an agreement with Barrington Area Soccer Association, four tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, bocce ball courts, shuffle board courts, and walking paths.
The South Barrington Park District has been providing open space, excellence and safety in our recreational facilities, leisure services and related social programs since 1975.
