McCain-Palin offer 4 more Bush years
You recently printed an editorial positing which party would be able to bring change to Washington. Excuse me? Is there even a question there?
Not only has McCain followed along party lines during George Bush's terms, he has now pandered to his base with his self proclaimed "pit bull in lipstick" of a running mate. No change there and none anticipated.
If McCain really was the maverick he claims to be, he would have put Joe Leiberman on the ticket.
Palin as a choice is only divisive, more of the same ol' same ol' old Republican nasty, bullying, dishonest attack machine.
Even McCain and Palin can't agree on the issues, so how can they bring change when they will be doing nothing more than bicker among themselves?
McCain recently flip flopped on the energy issue and now considers drilling in the Gulf Coast as a solution.
Ok, Palin agrees a bit on that one, but drill, drill, drill to drill up in Alaska in the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge. Just like Cheney and Bush have been drooling over for eight years.
And the Alaskans get a royalty from the oil companies for each barrel they sell at the Iraqi rate to us.
Palin is Dick Cheney in a skirt. Her ties to big oil are so tight that BP sponsored her inauguration.
Whereas McCain has been almost singularly focused on issues regarding Iraq, Palin recently said that the war in Iraq is "God's task."
Whatever you think of McCain, he is a real patriot, but Palin, not so much.
She has actively sought the support of the fringe Alaska Independence Party. Six months ago, Palin told members of the group, who advocate for a vote on secession from the union, to "keep up the good work" and wished the party luck on its "inspiring convention."
That's not American in my book. In my book, the secession is the very opposite of patriotism.
The answer to your question seems clear, Daily Herald. Change will come from the Democrats and the Obama-Biden ticket.
