Road workers have duty to safety too

I was involved in a minor car accident recently.

I was headed south on I-55 by the Bolingbrook-Romeoville exit. It is construction site with only two lanes left for traffic.

All of a sudden, I saw construction truck parked in my side left lane without any pre-warning or lane closure cones or any flag person directing traffic.

I was able to stop, but person behind me couldn't. He bumped me. Luckily no one is hurt.

My feeling is, there are laws and punishment and fines if you hit construction worker, but construction workers don't have to care for drivers.

They can park any where, any time they want.

The trooper came, did his paperwork and went his way without caring about why the construction worker parked in a traffic lane without any safety signals
