A lesson in the real meaning of heroism
The term "hero" is misused in the world of sports. Baseball hero, football hero, etc. Heroes don't wear sports uniforms.
Heroes are the military, members of law enforcement and the fire services. Many day-to-day people perform heroic, above and beyond the call, acts of courage. Most never make the news.
However, a few days ago during the storm, two men, without a second thought, dove into a creek to save a young boy from drowning and lost their lives.
Ironically, the boy survived. John Thanos and his son Mark Thanos are the real thing. Genuine heroes.
