• The Carol Stream Chamber of Commerce's second annual "What Women Want" expo will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Holiday Inn, 150 S. Gary Ave., Carol Stream. The event will include more than 40 vendors and exhibitors, shopping and more. The first 250 people to arrive will receive a goody bag. Admission costs $5, $4 for seniors 65 and older. • The Hinsdale Humane Society's second annual "It's In the Bag" Ladies' Night Out Shopping Extravaganza will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in downtown Hinsdale. More than 40 participating shops and restaurants will donate a portion of that night's sales to the humane society. The event will include special discounts, in-store giveaways, a prize raffle, food and wine sampling, entertainment and more. • Villa Park Recreation offers country line-dancing classes the second and fourth Fridays of every month at the Community Recreation Building, 320 E. Wildwood Ave., Villa Park. • As Good As Gold Golden Retriever Rescue of Northern Illinois will hold a Meet and Greet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Petco, 412 W. Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale. Proceeds benefit Lions Project Canine Companions for Independence, a not-for-profit organization that raises and trains dogs for people who use wheelchairs. Awards will be presented to the three dog owners who raise the most money, as well as for largest dog, smallest dog, oldest dog, youngest dog, oldest dog walker and youngest dog walker. The event also will include photo opportunities with the Bloomingdale Lion and McGruff the Crime Dog, a canine companions demonstration and a raffle for dog-themed items.
