Birthday cake for school

St. Peter School, in Geneva, celebrates its 50th anniversary with a timeline birthday cake at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the school gym, 1881 Kaneville Road. Cruise nights in Batavia:

The Batavia Jaycees will have its final "Cars Under the Stars" event from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 5 on the Riverwalk on Houston Street. Each night will have prizes and music, and all vehicles are welcome. For more information, visit www.bataviajaycees.org.

5K run for DayOne:

A 5K run in St. Charles on Sept. 7, will raise money for DayOneNetwork, an organization that provides services to people with disabilities. The Run for DayOne is planned for 8 a.m. at Pottawatomie Park, 8 North Ave. A half-mile "family walk" follows at 9 a.m. Registration the day of the event is $25. The prices include a T-shirt. In celebration of its 150th anniversary, the Kane County Bar Association has scheduled monthly Ask a Lawyer Days throughout 2008. Campton cruise nights:

Weekly "cruise nights" featuring hot rods and vintage vehicles are planned through September in Campton Hills. The events take place from 6 to 9 p.m. every Friday at Campton Crossings shopping center along Route 64. Cruise nights also include '50s and '60s music and trophies.
