Storm Chasers seek a few new dancers

Have some impressive dance moves and a personality that inspires excitement and fun? Want to showcase your skills in the professional arena? Now is your opportunity to perform with the Chicago Storm Chasers.

The professional indoor soccer team's dance squad hosts auditions Saturday, Sept. 27, at Sports Zone, 1945 Cornell Ave., in Melrose Park. The Chicago Storm's dancers perform during games at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, and throughout the 2008-09 season the Storm Chasers make public appearances in the Chicago area and suburbs.

Advance registration to join the Storm Chasers is available through the Storm's Web site, www.ChicagoStorm.net. Simply click on the auditions link on the front of the site, or on the Storm Chasers page. Print and complete the registration document, and mail the registration, two non-returnable photos (head shot, body shot) and a registration check (made payable to the Chicago Storm) to Chicago Storm Chasers, 5333 Prairie Stone Pkwy., Hoffman Estates, IL 60192.

The cost to register is $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the tryouts. Day-of-the-event registration begins at 10 a.m. on Sept. 27. Those looking to audition for the Storm Chasers must be 18 years of age or older on the tryout date.

The upcoming 2008-09 Xtreme Soccer League season marks the Storm Chasers' third as the team's dance squad. The Storm Chasers are led by Storm Chasers director/captain and dance camp director Lindsey Jones.

"I am very excited for the Storm Chasers' third season," Jones said. "The team has continued to grow and improve, and I am confident that this year will be no different. We are looking for girls with personality, poise, performance quality and dance ability at the professional level who will represent the Chicago Storm throughout our season."
