Cubs plan postseason rally at Daley Plaza on Tuesday

The Chicago Cubs will host a "Postseason Rally 2008" event at noon Tuesday at Daley Plaza in Chicago to celebrate the upcoming playoff games at Wrigley Field.

The downtown Chicago celebration will take place from noon to 12:45 p.m.

"We truly have the best fans in baseball and the rally at Daley Plaza is a testament to them and the accomplishments of the 2008 Chicago Cubs," said Matt Wszolek, the team's director of sales and promotions.

Highlighting the afternoon's events, which will be emceed by Wheaton native and actor Jim Belushi, are scheduled appearances from Gov. Rod Blagojevich, Mayor Richard Daley and Hall of Famer Billy Williams. Cubs legend Ron Santo and Cubs chairman Crane Kenney will also be in attendance.

The celebration is open to the public and will not be canceled if it rains.
