Fox Valley cleaning up after the flood
With a forecast of sun ahead, Fox Valley area residents continued to recover from last weekend's floods.
Several Elgin area intersections that were closed because of high water reopened Tuesday morning.
However, according to Ann Dinges, police department spokeswoman, still closed were: Hammond Avenue; Varsity Drive between Woodview Circle and Maroon Drive; Kirk Avenue and Getty Street; Sadler Avenue between Suzanne Lane and Jan Marie Lane; and Ramona Avenue north of Villa Street.

• Villa Street to Dickey Avenue to Route 20 to Cook-Kane Road;
• Route 20 to State Street to South Street to Woodland to Highland to Aldine Avenue back to South Street
On Thursday and Thursday, Sept. 25, it's Brookside and Westgate drives, Country Knoll Lane and Oakmont Drive.

Next Monday, Sept. 22, the collection area is: Chester Avenue to Hiawatha Drive to Ford Avenue to Liberty Street to River Bluff Road to Cedar Avenue.
