Bikes on sidewalks are a menace

Since when have the sidewalks of Arlington Heights been designated bicycle paths? They barrel up silently behind me, turning my dog into a whirling dervish and sending my heart into my throat.

I can understand small children, but please, parents put a bell on the bike and teach your child to use it. As for the middle-aged couple who claimed the whole sidewalk on Kennicott Friday afternoon, ask your mother if you are old enough to ride in the street now!
