Amtrak train derails
More than 200 Amtrak passengers were delayed after a train traveling from St. Louis to Chicago derailed around 7:50 p.m. One set of wheels on a car came off the tracks about 50 minutes before the train was scheduled to arrive at Chicago's Union Station, Amtrak officials said.
The train remained upright, and no one was injured.
Two other trains - train 307 Chicago to St. Louis and train 306 St. Louis to Chicago - were delayed as a result of the incident. Passengers on all three trains were bused to their locations and all trains still had electricity and air conditioning, officials said.
Amtrak officials anticipate that the incident will not affect train service Tuesday morning.
