Two cops hurt breaking up fight at Central High

It took five police officers to subdue a teen who got into a fight at Central High School at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Two police officers also received minor injuries in the fracas; one suffered a cut finger and the other sustained a bruised right thigh.

Jerome M. Murray, 19, of 242 Chaparral Court, Elgin, was charged with battery, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said.

Murray said in court Wednesday he was released from the Kane County jail six weeks ago and had been attending school since then.

He was unable to post a $1,000 bond and was taken to the Kane County jail. His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 19 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
