Chlorine leak closes Randall Road

A portion of Randall Road in St. Charles was closed Friday night while emergency crews contained a chlorine leak, officials said.

Randall Road between Route 64 and Dean Street was closed starting about 6:30 p.m. Friday as hazardous materials crews worked to stop the leak. Officials said a 150-pound chlorine cylinder at Well Station 7 began leaking Friday night.

Fire officials said they evacuated two businesses as a precautionary measure: Mercedes-Benz of St. Charles and XSport Fitness.
