Quick start, but Fire falls to Dynamo
HOUSTON - Dwayne De Rosario and Brian Mullan scored, and Pat Onstad made 5 saves to lead the Houston Dynamo to a 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire on Sunday night.
De Rosario and Mullan erased an early 1-0 deficit as Houston increased its lead in the Western Conference standings to 3 points over Real Salt Lake.
Cuauhtemoc Blanco worked his way around Houston defender Bobby Boswell and fed a pass to a wide open McBride, who found the back of the net to give the Fire a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute.
But the Dynamo, who dominated the first half after that, answered two minutes later when De Rosario scored his first goal since scoring in the SuperLiga tournament last month.
The Fire lost for only the second time in its last 10 matches. Houston leads the all-time series 3-2-1 and became the first team to post a win in the series at its home field.
