People of all salary levels abuse animals

An unsettling Sept. 22 article revealed that a doctor was charged with the egregious and lethal neglect of helpless horses.

This further verifies the systemic incidence of animal abuse throughout the United States.

Urban thugs stage dogfights and kill cats for pleasure. Wealthy trophy hunters massacre endangered species for vainglory so they can hang them on their walls. Women and even men wear fur derived from dead animals as a means to look fashionable. Inhumane and cruel hunting and fishing are called sports?

A major cause for all this animal carnage is the lamentable fact that very few Christian and other religious leaders ever speak about the moral imperative to be kind to God's creatures.

John Wesley did, but he's been dead for a few centuries and so is his humane Christian creed.
