The Palin family is truly inspirational

Dorothy opined in "The Wizard of Oz" that they weren't in Kansas anymore.

We are also no longer in the '50s.

With the massive media exposure perhaps I missed the obvious statement, but I thought that the infant son Trig had a father as well as a mother. Isn't it rather old-fashioned to think and act as though Dad provides only the sperm and the salary, but little else to the nurturing of a child? Isn't this sexist?.

As the mother of five children all grown, I know Sarah Palin is trying to keep many balls in the air, praying that none of them bounces.

If the roles were reversed, if Dad was Governor of Alaska and now a vice presidential candidate, I suspect she would roll up her sleeves and pick up the slack on the home front.

Women have done this for years as their husbands made conquests in the community and the business world. Aren't we being pessimistic when we assume that her husband will not do the same?

Perhaps there should be less conjecture by the media about whether she can do it all but rather an interview which focuses on the strategic plan this couple has crafted for their family. A truly inspirational story.
