Chicago cop accused in plot to frame woman

A Chicago police officer and another man have been charged with taking part in a scheme to plant drugs and a gun in the car of the man's estranged wife and arrest her.

Thirty-year-old Slawomir Plewa was arrested this week on charges of perjury, obstruction of justice, official misconduct and other charges and ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bail.

The other man -- Bogdan Mazur of Crystal Lake -- was also arrested and faces obstruction of justice and drug and weapons charges.

In court documents, Cook County prosecutors allege the two men and another uncharged co-conspirator hatched a plan to frame the woman. They say after Mazur planted the weapon and drugs, Plewa searched her vehicle. The woman was arrested after he found the items.
