Liberalism is an 'ominous threat'
Fencepost writer Greg Newlin continues to illuminate why liberalism is an ominous threat to this great country. In an opinion earlier this year, Mr. Newlin sang the praises of the anti-American, leftist, failed Air America Radio. His most ardent accolades were lavished on the host, Randi Rhodes. Since then, Rhodes was suspended from Air America for vulgar, unprintable remarks about fellow liberals Hillary Clinton and former Democratic V.P. candidate, Geraldine Ferraro. One cannot fathom how repugnant one must be to loose a gig at Air America.
Another opine found Newlin in a classic liberal conundrum. He was mighty perplexed and offended by the "neo-cons" (enlightened ex Democrats) using the term "Islamo-Fascists." Oh the humanity. Islamo Fascists are recruiting and forcing women, children and the mentally challenged to blow themselves up along with innocent civilians, American soldiers and anyone not subscribing to their warped idea of religion. They lop off heads, fly 747s into buildings, blow up trains in Spain, subways in England. Plot to: blow up commercial aircraft over the Atlantic, the Sears Tower, Los Angeles Airport, mass murder soldiers at Fort Dix, ad nauseam.
Newlin also stated, "What's in a few more dollars a gallon (of gas)," blaming President Bush for the current price of gas. He conveniently neglects to mention how former President Clinton twice vetoed a bill passed by the Republican-led Congress in 1995 authorizing drilling in ANWAR. Kiss that million barrels a day good bye. What does the Democratic leadership in Congress (9 percent approval rating!) propose? No nuclear power, no clean coal, no new refineries, no drilling off our shores. What's left? The Forrest Gump Transportation Solution. Just keep running. And millions will flock to the polls in November like 'Dawn of the Dead' to vote for these colossal jewels of ignorance? "Stupid is what stupid does."
