Briefs: Dunham closing delayed

Due to last weekend's flooding, the installation of a concrete barrier along the west edge of Dunham Road north of Stearns Road in St. Charles Township will not be completed today. Instead, the work will be done Sept. 24. Once work is under way, traffic will be reduced to one lane from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorist delays are expected. For more information, call (630) 845-7875.

The Alice Gustafson School PTO in Batavia is seeking sellers for its Gently Used Children's Clothing and Toy Resale Friday and Saturday. The sale features all-season infant through teen clothing, maternity wear, baby equipment and furniture, shoes, uniforms, sporting goods, costumes, books, games, videos and toys. Charity car show:

The 2nd Annual Charity Car and Motorcycle Show sponsored by Kane County Sheriff Pat Perez is planned for noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the sheriff's office, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles. The Elgin Symphony Orchestra's Holiday Showcase returns Dec. 6 to the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates for one night only. The 7:30 p.m. event will feature the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, live performances by Cirque du Soleil entertainers, Olympic ice dancers, and a chorus of hundreds. Orchestra seeks musicians:

The DuPage Symphony Orchestra is seeking musicians to play during its concert series titled Musical Gems.
