Report: Governor's campaign kept Ata money

Gov. Rod Blagojevich has apparently kept $65,000 in campaign contributions from a former administration official who's pleaded guilty to felony charges.

Ali Ata pleaded guilty earlier this year to lying to a federal agent and evading federal income taxes. He then testified for the state against political fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko.

Blagojevich campaign spokesman Doug Scofield tells the Chicago Sun-Times he's not aware the Ata money has been dumped.

Scofield didn't immediately return messages from The Associated Press seeking comment. And Blagojevich's office declined immediate comment.

Blagojevich has denied accusations by Ata that the governor discussed a state job with him after Ata made large campaign contributions.
