Library's antique car show a bust
On 9/7/08 Vernon library held their 3rd annual car show. No signs were put up directing cars to the correct parking lot.
Their Web site under special events stated no registration required. When you bring your antique car to the correct lot they ask you if you were registered.
If you say no, registration was not required, they tell you you have to park your antique car in a remote lot far away from the other activities.
When you ask why can't I park where the other cars are, they say they were preregistered.
So what they are saying is that they told all their friends with antique cars to preregister and you can park your car close to the activities and you will have a better chance of being awarded the prize since you will be exposed to more traffic from the people attending the activities.
I was not interested in winning the show. I have over a hundred trophies at home.
What I did want to do was expose my car to the most amount of people because I have it for sale. What I wound up doing was waste several hours. I am a taxpayer of this library and I have gone to more than 150 car shows with my antique cars and I have never run into a worse run event in my life.
You cannot send cars to a remote lot when you do not state preregistration is required. In fact you state no registration is required. I left the event and I believe others did also. I know I will tell anyone I know who has an antique car to avoid this show.
