Superintendent's raise isn't a shocker

Was anyone really shocked to read the Naperville District 203 school board giving their retiring superintendent a 6 percent raise? That's nothing. Imagine how board President Suzyn Price is going to reward the 1,300-member teacher's union in 2010? After all, the union funneled $30,000 to an organization called P.U.R.E. to campaign on her behalf. In justifying a raise that is twice what 203 parents and taxpayers have been getting, Ms. Price quickly pointed out 203's high ACT scores. Hmm, you mean like the high ACT scores this community had been producing for decades at half the cost? The Daily Herald did not support Price for re-election due to her lack of appreciation for the plight of the taxpayer. Where did they ever get that idea?
