Woman hurt in Tri-State crash

A motorist was badly hurt early Wednesday when her vehicle crashed on the Tri-State Tollway in the Green Oaks area, authorities said.

The accident occurred about 12:30 a.m. on I-94 near Rockland Road, Illinois State Police said.

The 23-year-old driver, a Lake Forest woman whose identity was not released by police, was headed south in a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder when the vehicle rolled over, Sgt. Mark Brzeczek said.

No other cars were involved, and she was the only occupant of the Nissan. Two lanes of traffic were blocked after the crash. The victim was taken by ambulance to Lake Forest Hospital but then flown by helicopter to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, police said.

No other details were available about her condition.

No tickets had been issued Wednesday as police continued investigating the crash.
