Man charged with molesting girl in 2002
A man accused of molesting a young girl in 2002 is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond.
Twenty-eight-year-old Teiji Mohammed-Ali, a former Wheeling resident now living in Chicago, has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault.
Mohammed-Ali was arrested Monday by Wheeling police after an investigation was launched when the alleged victim claimed she had been molested at the age of five.
During a hearing in a Rolling Meadows court room, Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Kristin Piper said the girl came forward after attending a recent sex-education class. The girl told authorities the man had blindfolded her and asked if she wanted to play a game.
At the time of the assault, the girl lived with her grandmother in Wheeling. Mohammed-Ali was a friend of the family.
